Hawkinsville - Charles M. Faber, 79, of Cummings Road, a native and lifelong resident of Hawkinsville, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2010, at his residence while under the care of his loving wife, Ruth, and son, Tim.
He was born on May 4, 1930, a son of John and Lottie Hendrix Faber. He graduated from Boonville Central School with the Class of 1947. For a time during the 1950’s he and his parents operated a bakery on Main Street in Boonville. The Faber family dairy farm was destroyed by a fire in 1950. In 1956 Charles rebuilt the farm and operated it for many years. He eventually purchased the farm from his father in 1966.
Mr. Faber retired from dairy farming in 1984 and joined his son in the operation of C&T Enterprises, a hay and grain harvesting and transport service. At the present time, Mr. Faber was involved in the operation of the business.
On June 6, 1959, Charles was united in marriage with Ruth Griffith at the Boonville Methodist Church.
He enjoyed baseball and was a Philadelphia Phillies fan, and also enjoyed dancing, country & western music, and traveling.
In addition to his wife, Ruth, he is survived by a son, Timothy Faber of Hawkinsville; two brothers, Casmer and Abbie Faber, both of Hawkinsville; a sister, Ruby Mazur of Constableville; and serveral nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Reva Bienvenu and Florence Seaman.
His Funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville, where the Rev’d William A. Mudge, pastor of the Boonville United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
